It seems like we are never going to see the day when a PC boots as fast a calculator, but at least we can now rest knowing that the newest version of Windows is gonna boot faster than any of the Vista boot ups. An Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 3.16GHz with 4GB of RAM, was used to measure the boot up times of all three OS's. This test revealed that windows 7 and XP had the same boot up time of 27 seconds versus the Vista Ultimate, which takes around 34 seconds to do the same. It seems the engineers at Microsoft have gone on an overdrive to achieve the target of less than 15 seconds of boot up time.
